Seven of ten screenshots showed a game that no longer exists

· landing · tooling

The in-game toolbar moved: symbols to the left, score to the right, a full-screen button added. What you touch belongs at the start of the line, what you read at the end.

Then the screenshots were updated — spiel-hoch, zuviert, zwoelf. Three out of ten.

What the other seven showed

schau/zu.webp is the largest image on the front page and doubles as the film’s poster frame. On it, the shut flaps 3, 5 and 7 stood as dark upright tiles inside the box. That is how the game looked in May. Since then the flaps lie flat, showing their wooden backs.

So the page was not merely dated. It asserted a mechanic that does not exist — and the alt text asserted it too: “showing their dark backs”.

What there was to learn

Three of the seven turned out to be unchanged: the close-ups of dice, flaps and corner render byte-identical, because they show no toolbar. That is the uncomfortable part — you cannot know which images are affected without re-rendering all of them and comparing.

If you update screenshots, count them. “The affected ones” is not a set.
